150th Anniversary of Australia

H.M. Brig ‘Supply’ – the first ship to enter Sydney Harbour. It carried Governor Phillip, who on January 26, 1788 sailed into Sydney Cove and planted a British flag.
The painting is from the collection of Howard Hinton Esq.

From a souvenir supplement to the Sydney Daily Telegraph dated February 9, 1938 which celebrates 150 years of European settlement in Australia from the landing of the First Fleet in 1788.
