Volunteer coastwatchers man this converted former lighthouse in the grounds of Pontins holiday camp in Pakefield, next to Lowestoft. They add volunteer local eyes and ears, supplementing but not being a part of the official HM Coastguard service, whose nearest station, since Great Yarmouth closed, is the Humber one in Bridlington.
