Waiting for high tide

Waiting for high tide

The supplemental stability pontoons wait in the casting basin at low tide on Monday. The pontoons will be floated out with the next high tide. A 10-foot tide is needed for the pontoons to clear the edge of the casting basin gate.

In July 2012, the SR 520 Floating Bridge and Landings Project floated out the first set of pontoons for the floating bridge replacement.
