The Camp Lawrence dining hall is the 2nd oldest building on camp, probably 70-80 years old (I’m not exactly sure). The kitchen attached to it looked like it was nearly as old, and best as I can tell, much of the equipment looks to be World War II surplus. Well, that’s all gonna change.
The old kitchen was due for demolition in September 2009, and will be rebuilt as a modern marvel over the next 8 months. These photos may be the last (if not the first) photographic record of the kitchen the way it was. None of these are gems, but the set as a whole gives you a taste (heh heh heh) of the miracles that hundreds of chefs have performed over the years. Enjoy.
