Organic Mesclun Salad
Crudite of Market Vegetables and Shallot Vinaigrette ($12)

Notes: One of the drawbacks to fine dining is the lack of vegetables. I am a salad-eater at heart, and after a few days of heavy restaurant eating, I was craving some fresh greens. I ordered this as a supplement to my lunch tasting menu.

The Good: The greens were nicely dressed, not drowned, in a piquant shallot vinaigrette.

The Bad: The $12 price tag for this tuft of greens.

The Ugly: Amongst the otherwise fresh mesclun, a completely rotted oak leaf. Gross.
