These are just a few quick cell phone shots from a 2-alarm structure fire around the corner from my house in Woodland, California. Woodland Fire Department Engine 1 arrived on the scene of a well-involved apartment fire and requested a second alarm. Crews from the Willow Oak Fire Protection District, UC Davis FD, the city of Davis, and the Yolo FPD also responded.
This 2007 Pierce Dash pumper is a reserve engine filling in as UC Davis Engine 34. The University of California at Davis has its own fire department, staffed with full-time personnel supplemented by students. In addition to Engine 34, UC Davis Truck 34 (which also responded to this fire) provides a ladder truck company for the university and the city of Davis.
In the background, to the left, is City of Davis FD Engine 32.
